| SAUCY 1995 curio size (4.75 inches at ear tips) chestnut Suffolk Draft mare sculpted by Kristina Lucas $80 glazed $57 white bisque Fewer than 100 produced in glazed chestnut. The first firing pieces were a hand-painted dark solid red with just a little airbrush shading. Unfortunately, all except one ended up with a mottled effect. The second firing pieces were a slightly lighter, peachier solid color with a little airbrush shading. These were sold at the 1995 Jamboree event. Then, a light colored airbrushed chestnut was produced with no USA marking and solid blue ribbons. Subsequently, normal production pieces were airbrushed, with shading added and two-tone blue and purple ribbons. The actual body colors varied widely, from a very light pale dusty chestnut, to a darker chestnut. Pictured is a regular run of the darker variety. A number of Saucy tests in different colors exist.
