Fall 1999
If you happened to be in Albuquerque this past January, you could have seen one-fifth of all the OF Pour Horse models in one place! The event was the first Enchantment Stables Pour Horse and Lucas Studio photo show, held by Liz Holm and sponsored by Pour Horse. The show had 36 entrants & nearly 400 photos, about three times the number Joan and Liz had estimated. Entries came from around the country and the world, and when the tally was made, about 20% of each Pour Horse run was present at the show. There were tons of rare models, too, with about half of the Jamboree Saucys, eyes-back Bressays, and dun Baldricks there, not to mention numerous test colors and variations. Custom models were also well represented, from painted resins to radical claybody custom ceramic pieces. Models were judged in seven divisions: Mold, Color, OF, CM, Collection, Non-horse items, and Fun (including Performance). Thanks to the lovely variety in models, judging was quite fun. Even a class like OF Voltage, with 33 entries, was a treasure trove of variations in color, markings, details, & photographic presentation. When the judging was done, champions included OF Saucy, Owynn, Voltage and Knut, a test color Baldrick, and claybody and glazed custom models. To see photos of the champions, send $4.00 (to cover printing costs) and a $0.55 LSASE to Liz Holm or view them online here.
The show was such fun that we've made it an annual event. The next show will be held on January 15, 2000.
