The first production firing models had mapped
snips and subtle body shadings. This practice was stopped because the shading
rubbed when the models were laid on their sides in the kiln to bisque fire.
Joan switched to a white body, with more drama in the mane and tail. Manes
and tails varied, but on the average, got a little darker and more dramatic
as the run progressed.n.
