There are lots of cool stories about the making of Owynn. Once I have one suitable for publishing, it'll be here.
~ Owynn Variations (Including Tests) ~
If you own any tests or variations, I would be thrilled to add them to this collection.
Owynn was the first of a Welsh Family Kristina sculpted for the pottery.
She later made Maeve and Dare to accompany him, but due to production issues,
they were never made for general release. Many test pieces were made,
although most of them had been sold off to avoid famine at the pottery. Some
remain though, of this darling little stallion.
It
took a little work to keep the gray horses from turning green due to the
mineral content of the pigment. The secret? Adding brown to the black mixture!
This one really shows the green.
This bay fellow has no white legs.
Yet another Green. I suspect there's more to these three greens than what I said, but again, Joan will have to help.
This fellow was the test for a whole bunch of different glazes, written in Sharpie.
Here's his other side - you can see traces of the writing.
A much warmer bay, also with no white on the legs.
This one has two white legs!
